In Joomla! before 3.8.2, a bug allowed third parties to bypass a user's 2-factor authentication method.

The bug was discovered 11/07/2017. The weakness was published 11/10/2017 (Website). The advisory is shared at developer.joomla.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-16634 since 11/06/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
