A vulnerability was found in Scala up to 2.10.6/2.11.11/2.12.3. It has been rated as problematic. The compilation daemon in Scala before 2.10.7, 2.11.x before 2.11.12, and 2.12.x before 2.12.4 uses weak permissions for private files in /tmp/scala-devel/${USER:shared}/scalac-compile-server-port, which allows local users to write to arbitrary class files and consequently gain privileges.
The bug was discovered 11/13/2017. The weakness was published 11/15/2017 (Website). The advisory is available at scala-lang.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-15288 since 10/12/2017.
