Details
A vulnerability has been found in Trusted Boot up to 1.9.6 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown function of the component PCR Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a input validation vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-20. The product receives input or data, but it does
not validate or incorrectly validates that the input has the
properties that are required to process the data safely and
correctly. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Certain function pointers in Trusted Boot (tboot) through 1.9.6 are not validated and can cause arbitrary code execution, which allows local users to overwrite dynamic PCRs of Trusted Platform Module (TPM) by hooking these function pointers.
