Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in VMware vSphere Web Client up to 5.5/6.0 (Virtualization Software). Affected is some unknown processing. The manipulation as part of a POST Request leads to a cross-site request forgery vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-352. The web application does not, or can not, sufficiently verify whether a well-formed, valid, consistent request was intentionally provided by the user who submitted the request. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
The flash-based vSphere Web Client (6.0 prior to 6.0 U3c and 5.5 prior to 5.5 U3f) i.e. not the new HTML5-based vSphere Client, contains SSRF and CRLF injection issues due to improper neutralization of URLs. An attacker may exploit these issues by sending a POST request with modified headers towards internal services leading to information disclosure.
