When re-configuring the mobile phone using the factory reset protection (FRP) function, an attacker can login the configuration flow by Swype Keyboard and can perform some operations to update the Google account. As a result, the FRP function is bypassed.
The bug was discovered 09/20/2017. The weakness was published 11/22/2017 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at huawei.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-2721 since 12/01/2016. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
