Bastet in P10 Plus and P10 smart phones with software Eariler than VKY-AL00C00B123 verisons,Earlier than VTR-AL00C00B123 versions have a buffer overflow vulnerability. An attacker with the root privilege of an Android system may trick a user into installing a malicious APP. The APP can modify specific data to cause buffer overflow in the next system reboot, causing continuous system reboot or arbitrary code execution.

The bug was discovered 04/05/2017. The weakness was presented 11/22/2017 by Venustech with Adlab of Venustech (Website). The advisory is available at huawei.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-2724 since 12/01/2016. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
