A vulnerability has been found in Arq up to 5.9.6 on Mac and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is the function setpermissions of the component Auto-Update. The setpermissions function in the auto-updater in Arq before 5.9.7 for Mac allows local users to gain root privileges via a symlink attack on the updater binary itself.
