The Virtio Vring implementation in QEMU allows local OS guest users to cause a denial of service (divide-by-zero error and QEMU process crash) by unsetting vring alignment while updating Virtio rings.
The bug was discovered 12/01/2017. The weakness was disclosed 12/07/2017 with Huawei (oss-sec). The advisory is shared for download at openwall.com.
