A vulnerability has been found in Synology File Station up to 1.1.1 and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function SYNO.FileStation.Extract. The manipulation of the argument dest_folder_path with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in the SYNO.FileStation.Extract in Synology File Station before 1.1.1-0099 allows remote authenticated users to write arbitrary files via the dest_folder_path parameter.
