Cisco IOS XE 3.4 before 3.4.2S and 3.5 before 3.5.1S on 1000 ASR devices allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (device reload) via malformed ICMP error packets associated with a (1) TCP or (2) UDP session that is under inspection by the Zone-Based Firewall (ZBFW) component, aka Bug ID CSCtt26470.

The weakness was disclosed 10/30/2013 as Multiple Vulnerabilities in Cisco IOS XE Software for 1000 Series Aggregation Services Routers as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at tools.cisco.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2013-5543 since 08/22/2013. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
