A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Easy2Map Plugin up to 1.2.x on WordPress (WordPress Plugin). This affects some unknown processing of the file includes/MapImportCSV2.php of the component Upload File Handler. The manipulation of the argument csvfile with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Multiple directory traversal vulnerabilities in (1) includes/MapImportCSV2.php and (2) includes/MapImportCSV.php in the Easy2Map plugin before 1.3.0 for WordPress allow remote attackers to include and execute arbitrary files via the csvfile parameter related to "upload file functionality."
The bug was discovered 10/04/2015. The weakness was presented 12/27/2017 as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2015-7669 since 10/01/2015. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1006 for this issue.
The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 815 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. By approaching the search of inurl:includes/MapImportCSV2.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
Upgrading to version 1.3.0 eliminates this vulnerability.
