This issue affects an unknown part of the file actions/nominatemedal.php. The manipulation of the argument reason as part of a Parameter leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in the DragonByte Technologies vbActivity module before 3.0.1 for vBulletin allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the reason parameter in (1) actions/nominatemedal.php or (2) actions/requestmedal.php.
The bug was discovered 03/25/2012. The weakness was disclosed 01/11/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared at dragonbyte-tech.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2012-6670 since 11/20/2014. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.

Upgrading to version 3.0.1 eliminates this vulnerability.
