In ImageMagick 7.0.6-10 Q16, a memory leak vulnerability was found in the function ReadMATImage in coders/mat.c, which allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted file.

The bug was discovered 09/06/2017. The weakness was disclosed 01/12/2018 by Venustech with Adlab of Venustech (GitHub Repository). The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2017-18029 since 01/12/2018. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
