Improper input validation bugs in DNSSEC validators components in Knot Resolver (prior version 1.5.2) allow attacker in man-in-the-middle position to deny existence of some data in DNS via packet replay.
The bug was discovered 01/22/2018. The weakness was released 01/22/2018 (Website). The advisory is available at knot-resolver.cz. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2018-1000002 since 01/16/2018. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
