A vulnerability was found in MariaDB and XtraDB Cluster (Database Software) (affected version not known). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the file sql/event_data_objects.cc of the component Access Restriction. sql/event_data_objects.cc in MariaDB before 10.1.30 and 10.2.x before 10.2.10 and Percona XtraDB Cluster before 5.6.37-26.21-3 and 5.7.x before 5.7.19-29.22-3 allows remote authenticated users with SQL access to bypass intended access restrictions and replicate data definition language (DDL) statements to cluster nodes by leveraging incorrect ordering of DDL replication and ACL checking.
The bug was discovered 12/10/2017. The weakness was released 01/25/2018 with Oracle (Website). The advisory is shared for download at lists.fedoraproject.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-15365 since 10/15/2017. The attack may be launched remotely. A simple authentication is required for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.
