CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Impacted is availability. The summary by CVE is:

do_tgs_req.c in the Key Distribution Center (KDC) in MIT Kerberos 5 (aka krb5) 1.11 before 1.11.4, when a single-component realm name is used, allows remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) via a TGS-REQ request that triggers an attempted cross-realm referral for a host-based service principal.

The weakness was shared 06/21/2013 by Jerome Sol as KDC null deref due to referrals as not defined bug report (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared at bugzilla.redhat.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2013-1417 since 01/24/2013. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 70958 (Fedora 20 : krb5-1.11.3-32.fc20 (2013-21456)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Fedora Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 123426 (Fedora Security Update for krb5 (FEDORA-2015-2382)).

Upgrading to version 1.11.4 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at github.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
