The nand_ioctl function in sys/dev/nand/nand_geom.c in the nand driver in the kernel in FreeBSD 10 and earlier does not properly initialize a certain data structure, which allows local users to obtain sensitive information from kernel memory via a crafted ioctl call.
The bug was discovered 11/13/2013. The weakness was shared 11/16/2013 by x90c as XADV-2013005 as not defined mailinglist post (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at seclists.org. The vendor was not involved in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability was named CVE-2013-6832 since 11/20/2013. Local access is required to approach this attack.
