A vulnerability was found in FFmpeg up to 3.4.1 (Multimedia Processing Software). It has been declared as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is the function decode_frame of the file libavcodec/utvideodec.c of the component AVI File Handler. The decode_frame function in libavcodec/utvideodec.c in FFmpeg through 3.4.1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out of array read) via a crafted AVI file.
The bug was discovered 02/05/2018. The weakness was released 02/05/2018 as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). It is possible to read the advisory at git.ffmpeg.org.
