A vulnerability was found in FFmpeg 2.1 (Multimedia Processing Software). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects the function vc1_decode_frame of the file libavcodec/vc1dec.c. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a denial of service vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-404. The weakness was shared 11/21/2013 by Mateusz Jurczyk and Gynvael Coldwind with Google Security Team as vc1: fix a memleak. as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). The advisory is shared for download at git.libav.org. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
