A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in uncurl up to 0.06 (Network Utility Software). Affected is the function uncurl_ws_accept of the file uncurl.c of the component Access Restriction. The manipulation as part of a WebSocket API Request leads to a cross-site request forgery vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-352. The web application does not, or can not, sufficiently verify whether a well-formed, valid, consistent request was intentionally provided by the user who submitted the request. In the uncurl_ws_accept function in uncurl.c in uncurl before 0.07, as used in Parsec before 140-3, insufficient Origin header validation (accepting an arbitrary substring match) for WebSocket API requests allows remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions.
The bug was discovered 01/17/2018. The weakness was shared 02/05/2018 (GitHub Repository). The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2018-6651 since 02/05/2018.
