A vulnerability was found in Wireshark up to 2.4.4 (Packet Analyzer Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function netmonrec_comment_destroy of the file wiretap/netmon.c. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. The netmonrec_comment_destroy function in wiretap/netmon.c in Wireshark through 2.4.4 performs a free operation on an uninitialized memory address, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact.
