Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Apache Oozie up to 4.3.0/5.0.0-beta1. This affects an unknown part of the component XML Data Handler. The manipulation as part of a XML File leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Vulnerability allows a user of Apache Oozie 3.1.3-incubating to 4.3.0 and 5.0.0-beta1 to expose private files on the Oozie server process. The malicious user can construct a workflow XML file containing XML directives and configuration that reference sensitive files on the Oozie server host.
