A vulnerability was found in Foxit MobilePDF App up to 6.0 on iOS (iOS App Software). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects an unknown code of the component WiFi Transfer. A Directory Traversal issue was discovered in the Foxit MobilePDF app before 6.1 for iOS. This occurs by abusing the URL + escape character during a Wi-Fi transfer, which could be exploited by attackers to bypass intended restrictions on local application files.
The bug was discovered 11/12/2017. The weakness was released 02/26/2018 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at foxitsoftware.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-16814 since 11/13/2017. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack needs to be initiated within the local network.
