Hammer CLI, a CLI utility for Foreman, before version 0.10.0, did not explicitly set the verify_ssl flag for apipie-bindings that disable it by default. As a result the server certificates are not checked and connections are prone to man-in-the-middle attacks.

The bug was discovered 03/27/2017. The weakness was disclosed 03/12/2018 with Red Hat (Website). The advisory is shared for download at projects.theforeman.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-2667 since 12/01/2016. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
