A buffer overflow exists in curl 7.12.3 to and including curl 7.58.0 in the FTP URL handling that allows an attacker to cause a denial of service or worse.
The bug was discovered 03/14/2018. The weakness was published 03/14/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at curl.haxx.se. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-1000120 since 03/08/2018. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
