A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Redwood SAP Business Process Automation 9.0/9.1 (Automation Software). Affected is an unknown code block of the component API. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. SAP Business Process Automation (BPA) By Redwood, 9.0, 9.1, allows an attacker to exploit insufficient validation of path information provided by users, thus characters representing 'traverse to parent directory' are passed through to the file APIs.
