CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in TYPO3 1.1.0/2.0.0 (Content Management System). It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function ActionController of the component Flow. The manipulation of the argument errorAction as part of a Error Message leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

The weakness was presented 12/10/2013 as TYPO3-FLOW-SA-2013-001 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at typo3.org. The advisory contains:

The same problem applies to the Extbase Framework in TYPO3. Read the according advisory TYPO3-CORE-SA-2013-004 for more information.
The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details and also a exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.

It is declared as highly functional.

Upgrading to version 1.1.1 or 2.0.1 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability. The advisory contains the following remark:

If you have customized the error action in your Flow application, we advice you to check that the error messages returned in these actions only contain static strings and are not derived from any kind of user input. If you are not sure whether your code is fine in that regard, feel free to ask on a public mailing list or the forum.

The vulnerability is also documented in the vulnerability database at OSVDB (100825†). See VDB-65845 for similar entry. Several companies clearly confirm that VulDB is the primary source for best vulnerability data.
