A vulnerability has been found in Ajax Pagination Plugin 1.1 on WordPress (WordPress Plugin) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects the function ajax_navigation of the file wp-admin/admin-ajax.php. The manipulation of the argument loop with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Directory traversal vulnerability in the Ajax Pagination (twitter Style) plugin 1.1 for WordPress allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the loop parameter in an ajax_navigation action to wp-admin/admin-ajax.php.
The bug was discovered 02/18/2014. The weakness was disclosed 03/19/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at security.dxw.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2014-2674 since 03/30/2014. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
