A vulnerability was found in Ceph up to 12.2.3/13.0.1. It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function RGWCivetWeb::init_env of the file rgw_civetweb.cc. The manipulation as part of a HTTP Header leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-476. A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit. In Ceph before 12.2.3 and 13.x through 13.0.1, the rgw_civetweb.cc RGWCivetWeb::init_env function in radosgw doesn't handle malformed HTTP headers properly, allowing for denial of service.
