A vulnerability has been found in NASM Netwide Assembler 2.13.02rc2 (Programming Tool Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects the function tokenize of the file asm/preproc.c. Netwide Assembler (NASM) 2.13.02rc2 has a heap-based buffer over-read in the function tokenize in asm/preproc.c, related to an unterminated string.

The bug was discovered 10/18/2017. The weakness was shared 03/20/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.nasm.us. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-8881 since 03/20/2018.
