A vulnerability was found in zzcms 8.2 (Content Management System). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown function of the file user/manage.php. The manipulation of the argument oldimg/oldflv with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. An issue was discovered in zzcms 8.2. user/manage.php allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary files via directory traversal sequences in the oldimg or oldflv parameter in an action=modify request. This can be leveraged for database access by deleting install.lock.
The bug was discovered 03/22/2018. The weakness was disclosed 03/24/2018 (Website). The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-8968 since 03/24/2018.
