A vulnerability has been found in ImageMagick 7.0.7 (Image Processing Software) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function LogOpenCLBuildFailure of the file MagickCore/opencl.c. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. An issue was discovered in ImageMagick 7.0.7. A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability was found in the function LogOpenCLBuildFailure in MagickCore/opencl.c, which allows attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted file.
The bug was discovered 09/30/2017. The weakness was disclosed 03/27/2018 (GitHub Repository). The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-18250 since 03/26/2018. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
