IBM InfoSphere Information Server 8.0, 8.1, 8.5, 8.7, and 9.1 allows local users to obtain sensitive information in opportunistic circumstances by leveraging the presence of file content after a failed installation.
The advisory summarizes:
For releases 8.5 and earlier this vulnerability can occur only when updating an existing installation with maintenance. For releases 8.7and onwards, this vulnerability can occur when performing all types of installations including new installations, adding of components not previously installed and updating an existing installation with maintenance.

The weakness was disclosed 12/13/2013 as swg21659957 as confirmed bulletin (Website). The advisory is available at www-01.ibm.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2013-5440 since 08/22/2013.
