Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Twonky Server up to 8.5. This affects some unknown processing of the file rpc/set_all. The manipulation of the argument contentbase with the input value .. leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:
Directory traversal vulnerability in Twonky Server 7.0.11 through 8.5 allows remote attackers to share the contents of arbitrary directories via a .. (dot dot) in the contentbase parameter to rpc/set_all.
