A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Apple watchOS up to 4.2 (Smartwatch Operating System). This affects an unknown functionality of the component NSURLSession. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a race condition vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-362. The product contains a code sequence that can run concurrently with other code, and the code sequence requires temporary, exclusive access to a shared resource, but a timing window exists in which the shared resource can be modified by another code sequence that is operating concurrently. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Upgrading to version 4.3 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
