An issue was discovered in certain Apple products. macOS before 10.12.6 is affected. The issue involves the "AppleGraphicsControl" component. It allows attackers to execute arbitrary code in a privileged context or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a crafted app.

The bug was discovered 07/19/2017. The weakness was presented 04/03/2018 by Lufeng Li (riusksk) with Ant-financial Light-Year Security Lab (Website). The advisory is available at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-13853 since 08/30/2017. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
