A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Apple macOS up to 10.12.4 (Operating System). Affected is the function XGetConnectionPSN of the component SQLite. An issue was discovered in certain Apple products. iOS before 10.3.2 is affected. macOS before 10.12.5 is affected. The issue involves the "SQLite" component. It allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption and application crash) via a crafted web site.
The bug was discovered 05/30/2017. The weakness was released 04/03/2018 with Chaitin Security Research Lab. (Website). The advisory is available at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2017-7001 since 03/17/2017. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
