VMware vRealize Automation (vRA) prior to 7.4.0 contains a vulnerability in the handling of session IDs. Exploitation of this issue may lead to the hijacking of a valid vRA user s session.
The bug was discovered 04/12/2018. The weakness was disclosed 04/12/2018 by Oliver Matula and Benjamin Schwendemann as VMSA-2018-0009 as confirmed security advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at vmware.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with VMware. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2018-6959 since 02/14/2018. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
