Mediawiki before 1.28.1 / 1.27.2 / 1.23.16 has a flaw where Special:UserLogin?returnto=interwiki:foo will redirect to external sites.
The bug was discovered 04/06/2018. The weakness was released 04/13/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at lists.wikimedia.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-0363 since 11/29/2016. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
