A vulnerability was found in Perl up to 5.26.1 (Programming Language Software). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is the function pack. Heap-based buffer overflow in the pack function in Perl before 5.26.2 allows context-dependent attackers to execute arbitrary code via a large item count.
The bug was discovered 04/15/2018. The weakness was released 04/17/2018 (Website). The advisory is available at lists.debian.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2018-6913 since 02/11/2018.
