A vulnerability has been found in FFmpeg 2.1 (Multimedia Processing Software) and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is the function ff_spatial_idwt_init2 of the file libavcodec/dirac_dwt.c. The impact remains unknown.
The issue has been introduced in 10/29/2013. The weakness was shared 12/18/2013 by Mateusz Jurczyk and Gynvael Coldwind with Google Security Team as avcodec/dirac_dwt: initialize support value for fidelity wavelet as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). It is possible to read the advisory at git.videolan.org. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
