A vulnerability was found in puppet-swift up to 8.2.0/9.4.3 (Service Management Software) and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the file proxy-server.conf of the component Installation. puppet-swift before versions 8.2.1, 9.4.4 is vulnerable to an information-disclosure in Red Hat OpenStack Platform director's installation of Object Storage (swift). During installation, the Puppet script responsible for deploying the service incorrectly removes and recreates the proxy-server.conf file with world-readable permissions.
The bug was discovered 01/26/2017. The weakness was published 04/26/2018 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-9590 since 11/23/2016. The attack needs to be approached locally. A simple authentication is required for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1592.
