A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in FFmpeg 2.1 (Multimedia Processing Software). This affects the function film_read_packet of the file libavformat/segafilm.c. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a uninitialized resource vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-908. The product uses or accesses a resource that has not been initialized. The issue has been introduced in 10/29/2013. The weakness was published 01/07/2014 by Mateusz Jurczyk and Gynvael Coldwind with Google Security Team as avformat/segafilm: drop song and dance, this seems not to do anything anymore since… as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository).
