A vulnerability was found in HAProxy up to 1.8.9 (Firewall Software) and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is the function check_request_for_cacheability of the file proto_http.c of the component Authorization Header Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a information disclosure vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-200. Incorrect caching of responses to requests including an Authorization header in HAProxy 1.8.0 through 1.8.9 (if cache enabled) allows attackers to achieve information disclosure via an unauthenticated remote request, related to the proto_http.c check_request_for_cacheability function.
The bug was discovered 05/23/2018. The weakness was published 05/25/2018 as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). The advisory is shared for download at git.haproxy.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2018-11469 since 05/25/2018. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
