A vulnerability has been found in Appnitro Machform up to 4.2.2 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the file download.php. The manipulation of the argument q as part of a Parameter leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. An issue was discovered in Appnitro MachForm before 4.2.3. The module in charge of serving stored files gets the path from the database. Modifying the name of the file to serve on the corresponding ap_form table leads to a path traversal vulnerability via the download.php q parameter.

The bug was discovered 02/17/2015. The weakness was shared 05/26/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at metalamin.github.io.
