Exiv2 0.26 has an integer overflow in the LoaderExifJpeg class in preview.cpp, leading to an out-of-bounds read in Exiv2::MemIo::read in basicio.cpp.
The bug was discovered 06/11/2018. The weakness was presented 06/13/2018 (GitHub Repository). The advisory is shared at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2018-12265 since 06/12/2018. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
