A vulnerability was found in phpMyAdmin up to 4.8.1 (Database Administration Software). It has been classified as problematic. An issue was discovered in js/designer/move.js in phpMyAdmin before 4.8.2. A Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability has been found where an attacker can use a crafted database name to trigger an XSS attack when that database is referenced from the Designer feature.
The bug was discovered 06/19/2018. The weakness was disclosed 06/21/2018 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at phpmyadmin.net. Upgrading to version 4.8.2 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published 2 days after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
