It was found in Undertow before 1.3.28 that with non-clean TCP close, the Websocket server gets into infinite loop on every IO thread, effectively causing DoS.
The bug was discovered 07/26/2018. The weakness was disclosed 07/27/2018 by ryan as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2017-2670 since 11/30/2016. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
