Details
A vulnerability was found in Cryptogs (the affected version is unknown). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is the function endCoinFlip/throwSlammer of the component Random Number Generator. The manipulation as part of a Smart Contract leads to a weak prng vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-338. The product uses a Pseudo-Random Number Generator (PRNG) in a security context, but the PRNG's algorithm is not cryptographically strong. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
The endCoinFlip function and throwSlammer function of the smart contract implementations for Cryptogs, an Ethereum game, generate random numbers with an old block's hash. Therefore, attackers can predict the random number and always win the game.
