A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Harmonic NSG 9000 (affected version unknown). This issue affects an unknown functionality. The manipulation with the input value nsgadmin/nsgguest/nsgconfig leads to a hard-coded credentials vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-798. Harmonic NSG 9000 devices have a default password of nsgadmin for the admin account, a default password of nsgguest for the guest account, and a default password of nsgconfig for the config account.
The bug was discovered 07/28/2018. The weakness was disclosed 08/05/2018 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2018-14943 since 08/05/2018. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
